My Introduction

My life started out fabulous enough.

I was born to two AKC registered Labradors in Las Vegas. My Father was a black lab and my Mother was a yellow. I am yellow.

As I turned 8 weeks old, a family came to buy me and my sister. We were so happy to be going somewhere great to live forever together. We lived together for years and from what my new mom can piece together, apparently my sister was the favored one throughout our lives because soon after my 7th birthday, we were separated due to “family” circumstances and my sister went to live with relatives and I was put in a kennel to live all day. I hated the kennel and would chew on the bars day after day trying to get out. One day, I decided to climb over the fence to escape. I made it over but not without injuring my leg. I didn’t care, I was finally free and went roaming the streets, trying to find my family-certainly it was a mistake that I was there for so long. After several hours of walking the streets, a Good Samaritan picked me up and took me to the shelter to see if they could find out where I lived. After a lot of searching, the wonderful woman who worked there found my people and called them. I was so excited! I was finally going home!! Well, when my owners came to the shelter to identify me, they told the lady that they no longer could keep me and that they should find a home for me. I couldn’t believe it! I had a home. How could they just toss me aside after all of the great years we had spent together? I was so sad. I was so heartbroken. Then, one day last August, my life changed! A girl called about me after seeing me on Labrescue.org. She lived in San Francisco and was driving 2 ½ hours to come see me! From what the shelter owner told me, her Father had recently passed away and she wanted a dog that she could go for walks with, go to the beach with and just hang out with that could help her through this rough time in her life. That was me! The day she came to see me, I wasn’t really “up” for seeing anyone, although I was excited, I also was apprehensive. I didn’t want to get my hopes up and frankly, I was depressed over everything that had happened to me. After talking with the owner of the shelter for about an hour and hanging out with me, she decided to take me but couldn’t do it that day. I was devastated. I just didn’t know if she was coming back or not. Well, true to her word, she was back on Saturday morning and off I went to San Francisco! I lived in a most glamorous high rise on the 17th floor! My view of the City was amazing!I was so grateful to be living in such a wonderful place! I felt as though I was living in heaven. Then! Two months later my life got even better than I ever dreamed!! My new mom told me we were moving to the country to live on a ranch!!
